Tokyo-born Momoko Seto studied at the French national con- temporary art school in Le Fresnoy before working as a filmmak- er at the CNRS. In 2021, she won the CNRS Crystal award, the highest distinction for a scientific movie director. In parallel, she directed the series PLANET, comprised of four short films, of écologique et poétique qui mêle notamment animation 3D, prise de vue réelle en macro et timelapses. which PLANET > earned accolades at the Berlin International Film 2025 Planètes, 75′, Semaine de la Critique 2021 – Ojiichan, 35′ Festival in 2015. She was the winner of the Fondation Gan pour le Cinéma prize for her first feature film, Dandelion’s Odyssey, a poetic, eco- logical odyssey combining 3D animation, macro live action foot- age, and time-lapse photography.
